Madrid is a city brimming with history, culture and traditions. If you’re planning to visit in August, there are plenty of activities to enjoy across the capital’s various neighbourhoods and districts.
San Isidro Museum
The San Isidro Museum is one of Madrid’s hidden gems, yet a true cultural treasure. It is situated in the La Latina neighbourhood, in Madrid’s historic centre. A visit here will take you on a journey through Madrid’s history, from prehistoric times to the establishment of the Royal Court.
Another neighbourhood bordering SLEEP’N is the Barrio de las Letras, so called because the greatest authors in Spanish literature lived and wrote in its streets.
SLEEP’N is nestled on the edge of one of Madrid’s oldest and most multicultural neighbourhoods, Lavapiés. Situated to the south-east of the city centre, its network of steep, narrow and winding streets retains its medieval charm. It is also notable for its distinctive buildings known as ‘corralas’, where the flats are arranged around a central courtyard.

San Isidro is the patron saint of Madrid, of villages with an agricultural tradition, of other villages and towns in the Americas and, of course, of all farmers, winegrowers and agricultural engineers.

Some of Madrid’s most popular museums are located near SLEEP’N. Forming a triangle, the Prado Museum, the Reina Sofía Museum and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum are usually a must-see for most tourists visiting Madrid.
