- 9th Madrid Cocido Tour: until 31 March. In this ninth edition, the event offers a culinary tour taking in various restaurants across the Community of Madrid, giving you the chance to sample this traditional local dish.

- San Isidro Festivities 2019: between 10 and 15 May, Madrid celebrates the festivities in honour of its patron saint, with music, shows and a host of activities for all ages. A comprehensive cultural and leisure programme that blends the traditional with the modern.

- Pasea Madrid: every Sunday, the Paseo del Prado is closed to traffic in the morning and at midday for the enjoyment of tourists and locals alike, who can stroll or cycle through one of the city’s most iconic and beautiful areas.

- Mulafest: from 26 to 28 April, Madrid’s Festival of Urban Culture and Trends organises the most diverse event on the city’s calendar. Music, tattoos, motoring, street art, photography, illustration, street dance and more.

- Noches del Botánico: running from late spring until 31 July, the Alfonso XIII Royal Botanical Gardens will host afternoon and evening concerts featuring a selection of national and international artists performing their latest works and hits live in a unique setting. This year’s line-up features major artists such as Woody Allen, Jane Birkin, Loreena McKennitt, Michael Bolton, Macy Gray, Keane, Ana Belén, Salvador Sobral and Russian Red, amongst many others.

- Mutua Madrid Open: from 3 to 12 May, the Madrid tournament – the fourth Masters 1,000 event – brings together the best male and female tennis players.

- Madrid Book Fair: 31 May to 16 June, tourists flock in droves in search of the latest literary releases, fascinating talks and workshops along the Paseo de Coches in Retiro Park, a wide avenue that fills with stalls where booksellers offer the public their recommendations and special offers.
