SLEEP'N Atocha has been awarded international Travelife accreditation

SLEEP'N Atocha has been awarded the Travelife for Hotels & Accommodations Gold Certification.

At SLEEP'N Atocha, we strive to contribute to the improvement and well-being of the local community in order to create opportunities for economic, social and environmental development. Our work and future plans have earned us the international Travelife for Hotels & Accommodations Gold Certification, a sustainable tourism certification scheme that has assessed our performance in the responsible management of our socio-economic and environmental impact.

Consequently, we believe that economic growth and the well-being of society are linked to the health of the environment. We are therefore committed to minimising the negative environmental impacts of all our hostel’s activities.

We are actively engaged in continuous environmental improvement practices aimed at:

  • Comply with local, national and international environmental legislation;
  • Integrating best environmental practices into our day-to-day operations to promote the responsible use of energy and water; Minimising energy loss, water pollution and water wastage;
  • Installing energy-efficient technology when replacing old equipment;
  • Implementing a waste management programme to minimise waste generation by following this hierarchy: prevent, reduce, reuse and recycle;
  • Monitoring and reducing our carbon footprint;
  • Apply our procurement policy for products and services at all times .

We raise awareness and inspire our customers, employees and partners in their personal and professional lives.

We also believe that our employees are our greatest asset and that, therefore, looking after them is essential not only for their wellbeing, but also to offer the best experience to our customers and meet our sustainability objectives.

Furthermore, as part of our implementation of Travelife, we have also signed up to Thecode.org to prevent the sexual exploitation of children in tourism.
